The knowledge and skills of statistics are cumulative: what you learn in one chapter will be used in the next chapter and throughout the course. Therefore you should discipline yourself to master the material as it is presented: shaky understandings early on will make the course very difficult later on, just as a shaky foundation makes construction of a building problematic. Don't get behind! Most students find it impossible to recover if they fall behind.
